This is what Lidia said to me today…
“How you up, Mom?”
I looked at her with that blank, thinking look for a moment.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh
“You mean, ‘What’s up?’”
“Yea, what’s yup, Mom?”
*snicker*

Lids was playing a game on her Leapster last night and I over heard the character on the game ask, “Who are your best friends?”
Without a beat, Lidia responded, “My Dad.”
awwww!
So recently, Lidia was watching me dress for the day and commented, matter of factly. The conversation went something.
L: That’s your butt, there, Mom.
M: Well, yes, it is.
L: I like your butt mom, it’s very pretty.
M: er…Thanks *snicker*
She was so earnest in her comment, but I couldn’t keep a straight face…
Ahh, and she is also developing her bargaining skills. Today she walks in with this little conversation:
L: Oh, Mom, I’ve been looking everywhere for you!
M: *laugh* Oh, well you look pretty cute (I was commenting because she had obviously picked out her own clothes and gotten dressed while she was out of the room)
L: Thanks. Hey, maybe I’d like some raisins. They’re very good for me!
Now how, may I ask, can a Mom say “no” to that???
As we are preparing to go out of town to visit the up nort grandparents, I am in my room getting the kids’ clothes together. Lidia walks in and says “Mom, we need to go.”
My response: Well, we have to wait until Daddy gets home from work and finish packing.
Lidia sighs, puts one hand on her hip (and she may have even rolled her eyes, I’m not sure), then says, “Mom, this is dikalus”
Mom (struggling not to laugh): Oh, this is ridiculous?
Lidia: Yes this is dikalus, we need to go to Yaya’s
